Local video compression

Video Compressor

Compress browser-readable video files by setting bitrate, frame rate, and output format before converting locally.

Files up to 1 GB. Large conversions still depend on browser memory, codec support, and device performance. Desktop browsers usually work best.

Compress videos without uploading

The video compressor exposes browser-supported bitrate, frame rate, and output format controls for clips that need smaller downloads. It is useful for drafts, previews, social uploads, documentation clips, and media that should remain on your device.

Compression runs through the same local media pipeline as the video converter. When a browser can decode the source codec and encode the target format, BunnyConverter creates a new file in the current session instead of sending the source to a remote compression queue.

Smaller video files usually require a lower bitrate, lower frame rate, smaller dimensions, or a combination of those settings. Very large or unusual source files still depend on browser codec support and available device memory.

All BunnyConverter tools follow the same local workflow: choose a source file, let the browser complete the supported conversion or edit, then download the result. There is no project library to manage and no remote job to wait for. If a browser cannot read a format or does not have enough memory for a large file, the tool reports the problem locally so you can try a smaller file, a different format, or a desktop browser.

Good to know

  • Set video bitrate and frame rate before export.
  • Use MP4 or WebM when browser support allows.
  • Keep source clips on your device.
